==Biography==

Vandeweghe was born in New York City. She is the granddaughter of 1952 Miss America Colleen Kay Hutchins and former New York Knick Ernie Vandeweghe, the niece of basketball player Kiki Vandeweghe and the daughter of former olympic swimmer Tauna Vandeweghe. She first started playing tennis with her older brother, Beau at the age of 11, the last sport she played in her early life before turning pro in April 2008. Self-described as a "total California girl", CoCo spends most of her off-season at the beach with her family.〔Waldstein, David. (Coco Vandeweghe, Kiki's niece, wins U.S. Open girls' title ).
